FAQs
What is Infant Massage?
It is an ancient tradition in many cultures which is being rediscovered in the West. Clinical evidence increasingly shows that loving, nurturing contact between a baby and its parents has an important impact on their development physically, emotionally and mentally.
What happens if my baby needs to feed?
The course is baby led and therefore feeding, nappy changes, crying etc are all welcome in the course. There are chairs which you can sit and feed them on if you find that more comfortable.
What should I bring with me?
A towel, blanket and a cushion
If my baby has special needs can I join the group?
Yes, we will take the cues from your baby. Depending on the situation you may need to adapt the strokes to suit you and your baby. If you have any concerns it is best to check with your doctor.
My baby has recently had jabs can I still massage him?
Yes you can, taking the cues from your baby if they are still happy to be massaged. It may be best to avoid that area as it would understandably be tender.
What if my baby urinates on your mats during the class?
The mats are waterproof and can therefore be washed and wiped down. I will have Milton wipes with me!
Are twins welcome in your classes?
Yes, we welcome twins on the course. You may like to bring a partner/friend/family member with you to assist you.
How will I know what to bring with me and where the class will be held?
Once I have received your fee for the course, your place will be booked and a confirmation letter will be sent out to you with all relevant information.
